We were all new here once, and we understand that going to a church for the first time can be intimidating and awkward. We want to help make your experience a great one, so here is a glimpse of what to expect. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us ahead of time.
We want you to feel right at home each time you come. When you walk through the doors you can expect some people to welcome you. The sanctuary is to the left once you enter and the bathrooms are to the right. There’s always refreshments and coffee in the Lobby, so feel free to help yourself before finding a seat in the sanctuary. You’re even welcome to take those into the sanctuary with you.
Most people at Rivers Church dress casually. You may even see several football jerseys in the Fall. Your appearance isn’t a factor, so don't think you have to go buy a new outfit. Feel free to wear whatever excites you or makes you feel comfortable.
We always start our services with a time of energetic, passionate praise and worship. Once worship is over, we will take a few minutes to connect with one another. We’ll then continue our worship through the reading of the Word which flows right into the weekend message. We like to respond to the message by taking communion, which is open to all believers of Jesus. Finally we will open the altar for another song of worship and personal response. Most weekends, Pastor Tony will preach.
Here at Rivers Church we are dedicated to creating a space for kids of all ages to experience the Holy Spirit alongside their families. To meet this goal, kids join their families in worship and are checked in before the message starts. Little Rivers (ages 0-5) and Rivers Kids (ages 6-12) are both located in our Main Building near the Sanctuary. After worship, kids will encounter the Word through hands-on activities, age-appropriate teaching and interactive lessons led by background-checked volunteers.
